Benefits Innovation: The New Consumer – Centric Platforms and Models

In this presentation, I will discuss how the “Consumerism” megatrend has inspired Health Benefits innovation. I will explore how benefit dollars locked up in traditional systems and single employer risk pools can be repurposed for a range of more personal and non-traditional  benefit categories. I will examine how new consumer – owned benefit models allow full market choice for each worker and separately for each dependent, pointing out how this results in dramatically lower health care spending overall.
